The wealthiest governorate in Iraq uses port collection money to pay daily wages

The local government in Basra Governorate decided, on Thursday, to pay daily wages from collecting border crossings.

Deputy Governor of Basra, Muhammad Tahir al-Tamimi, told Shafaq News, "We had a meeting with the accounting, auditing and legal departments at the Basra Governorate Court, the Financial and Administrative Affairs Department and the Basra Governorate Council accounts departments for the purpose of how to spend 30,000 wages in daily wages."

Al-Tamimi added, "The local government will pay the salaries of wages from the collection of border points in Basra."
