Iraq is looking to import electricity from Turkey

The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced on Thursday that it is holding talks to import 200 megawatts of electrical energy from Turkey, to reduce the chronic power shortage in the country for decades. The ministrys spokesman, Ahmed Al-Abadi, said that after obtaining the approval of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, the ministry began negotiations with Turkey to import 200 megawatts of electricity via the Salobi - Faida line - the Mosul Dam station (north).
